Introduction to FMSI Fuel Lines

  • Fuel lines on vehicles have always had rust and corrosion problems and eventually must be repaired or replaced.

  • With the advent of the fuel-injected vehicle, fuel line pressures increased to levels reaching sixty to seventy pounds, significantly increasing the problem of fuel line leaks.

  • Leaks under these pressures are not only costly because of fuel loss, but are dangerous as a potential for fire now exists.

  • Furthermore, certain vehicles will cease to operate when the pressure in the fuel system drops too low as the result of a fuel line leak. These problems have created a need for high quality, moderate cost solutions.

  • FMSI steel replacement fuel lines are available in several lengths and styles, offer cost savings, and are easily installed repair alternatives.
  • The lengths available are easily attached to existing "on the car" fuel lines with little or no bending.
  • Permanent repairs to fuel lines can be achieved with this superior to original equipment part.
  • Current model technology for steel-fuel lines includes the use of galvcoat protection, which we incorporate in the FMSI program, to ensure top quality, permanent repairs.
  • FMSI also offers a complete line of nylon fuel repair lines using original equipment connectors manufactured in North America for General Motors, Ford and Chrysler.
  • These nylon fuel repair lines are available with straight-line and 90-degree elbow connectors in 5/16, 3/8, 8 mm and 10mm diameters.
  • Fuel line splices are also available to repair vehicles using nylon fuel lines front to back.
  • These are available in 12", 24" and 36" lengths, in 5/16, 3/8, 8 mm and 10mm diameters and will repair original equipment fuel lines when leaks occur at locations other than the connection.
  • FMSI's nylon fuel lines will easily bend without kinks or restrictions to accommodate all kinds of tight applications.
  • Although nylon fuel lines don't rust and corrode, they do have problems that are unique to them.
    • Nylon connectors are broken when retainer clips are removed (to access filter or sending unit).  This is very common once the vehicle has reached 3 years or older.
    • O-rings found inside the nylon connectors seize to the steel lines exiting the gas tank fuel sending unit and the interior of the connector is pulled apart when removing.
    • Damage from accidents is common and a direct hit on the line by ice/snow and road debris can  and does cause severe damage.
All nylon fuel repair lines come complete with necessary attaching hardware including brass barbs (unions), ear clamps and retainer clips.
Feature Benefits
  • Coated steel repair lines using the same galfan coating that is used on newer vehicles.
  • Available in 9", 18" and 36" lengths.
  • Part numbers 3060 through 3065.
  • Allows mechanic, or do it yourselfer, to repair sections of rusted or broken fuel line instead of replacing complete fuel lines, front to back.
  • When replacing fuel lines front to back, it is easy to damage other rusted and corroded brake and transmission lines that run in the same bundle.
  • Pre-bent and swaged (diameter reduction) sending unit repair lines.
  • Part numbers 3072 - 3083.
  • Eliminates the replacement of fuel (in tank) sending unit when rusted out pressure and return lines are the reason.
  • Lines are bent at Original Equipment 90-degree angles are easily soldered into existing fuel lines that have been cut off level with the top plate of the gas tank sending unit.
  • Repair of Nylon fuel repair lines without total replacement.
  • The only real alternative to replacing fuel lines front to back, as General Motors, Ford and Chrysler offer only complete lines.
  • Cost savings in labor and parts of $200.00 or more per repair.
  • 90-degree elbow 3/8 - 5/16 - 8mm
  • 10 mm connectors
  • Original equipment connector is replaced by same, to insure complete leak-free repair.
  • All diameters in straight and 90-degree elbow available to make repair lines very easy to install and a real time saver over complete line replacement.
  • Flexible nylon fuel line tubing.
  • Makes all nylon fuel line repairs possible with this easily installed tubing.
  • The only after-market nylon fuel repair lines using this easy-to-install, labor saving tubing.
